Wieliczka's salt mine has been operating since the 13th century, reflecting seven centuries of evolving salt-extraction methods. The complex spans nine underground levels, with depths ranging from 57 to 198 metres and a total length of corridors and galleries exceeding 287 kilometres. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978.
Today it's home to sculpted chapels, underground chandeliers and lakes that look painted — all carved from rock salt — plus the Museum of the Wieliczka Saltworks with permanent exhibitions on the history of mining.
We arrange your skip-the-queue entry tickets and an English-speaking guide. Our chauffeur drives you the short 14 km from Kraków (the town of Wieliczka sits roughly 15 km from the city centre), waits during your visit, and brings you back without you ever needing to think about logistics.
Multiple tourist routes are available, with guided tours in Polish and English; group and individual visits both run daily.
We strongly recommend confirming the mine's operating hours and booking your timed-entry ticket in advance — see wieliczka-saltmine.com. Tickets and licensed guide are arranged for you as part of the tour.
The schedule is fully individual. Start time, pace and locations are arranged with you — pick the stops, skip the ones you don't need, change the order. We adapt to your day.
